Announcing 2010 Dallas Race Week

Sunday July 18^th thru Friday July 23^rd.

There are exciting changes for 2010.

Race headquarters are at the Hilton Bella Harbor in Rockwall.

$1 million of new docks are being installed at the Harbor which will be completed no later than July 12^th.

The new docks will include over 50 new slips and a 375 foot wave attenuator similar in strength to the one in front of Bass Pro.

Entry Fee is only $50 and every boat registered will receive stuff from our sponsors that is worth more than the entry fee.

We have new sponsors including Captain Morgan Rum, and Crown Royal.

Schedule is:

Sunday July 18^th,  5pm to 6pm registration and packet pick up – C and B scene bar Hilton Hotel

Sunday July 18^th 6pm Skippers meeting – Outside deck of Hilton Hotel

Sunday July 18^th 7pm start off light house in front of Hilton Hotel – pursuit race- finish same as start

Sunday July 18^th 8:30 to 10:30pm party at Hilton Hotel – Outside deck

Monday July 19^th 7 pm pursuit start and finish at lighthouse; 8:30 to 10:30 pm party at Dodie’s

Tuesday July 20^th 7pm pursuit start and finish at lighthouse; 8:30 to 10:30 pm party at Agava’s

Wednesday July 21^st 7pm pursuit start at Lighthouse, finish at RCYC, party on the RCYC’s new deck

Thursday July 22^nd 7pm pursuit start at RCYC, finish at Bass Pro, party at (Flying Saucer or Primos)

Friday July 23^rd 7pm pursuit start at Bass Pro, finish at Hilton, party and awards at Harbor Band stand

This year RCYC is providing a race committee and committee boat for starts and finishes, Rush Creek Yacht is a presenting sponsor of Dallas Race Week.

Why the new time and location? Chandlers Landing Yacht Club is closed and does not have a time frame for reopening. Right now the contractor for the new docks deadline is July 4^th, so the new docks at the Harbor would not be ready for the traditional date of father’s day (June 20^th).

Dallas Race Week format for this year will include Sailboat Dealers with brand new yachts to test sail, partnerships with the Hilton and other Harbor tenets, and a challenging Australian Pursuit Race Course.
